The Indian women’s hockey team, led by Savita, is on the brink of realizing their dream of participating in the upcoming Summer Games in Paris. Their fate is tied to the FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers 2024, which is set to take place in Ranchi, Jharkhand from January 13 to 19.

This eight-nation tournament is a high-stakes event, with the top three teams securing their spot at the Paris 2024 Olympics, scheduled for July and August this year.

The competition format sees the eight participating teams divided into two pools of four teams each.

Pool A of the tournament, the teams that are participating are Germany, Japan, Chile, and the Czech Republic. On the other hand, Pool B comprises teams from India, New Zealand, Italy, and the United States.

The Indian team, aiming for its third consecutive Olympic appearance, is entering the tournament with high hopes. As the second highest-ranked team, they have the home advantage and are buoyed by their recent success at the Asian Champions Trophy.
