The Indian women’s hockey team will start their 2024 campaign with a huge tournament where the Paris Olympic 2024 Qualification is at stake. Women’s FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers 2024 will take place in Ranchi, Jharkhand, and Valencia, Spain from January 13 to 20. It will be the final qualification tournament for the hockey teams to make it to Paris.The Indian team, aiming for its third consecutive Olympic appearance, is entering the tournament with high hopes. As the second highest-ranked team, they have the home advantage and are buoyed by their recent success at the Asian Champions Trophy.

Groups and Format

The qualifiers are divided into two tournaments, one will be held in Ranch, India and another one in Valencia, Spain. Each tournament has eight teams divided into two groups of four teams each. They will play one match each against the other three teams. The top two from each group will qualify for the semifinals. The top three from both tournaments will qualify for the Paris Olympics.

The Indian women’s hockey team is in Group B with Italy, New Zealand, and the United States and is expected to top the group. India will begin their campaign against the United States on January 13.
