India got off to a blazing start with Sukhjeet Singh scoring within 30 seconds, assisted by captain Harmanpreet Singh. The Indian attack was spearheaded by Dilpreet Singh, who scored a brace in the 28th and 45th minutes, while Amit Rohidas added a goal in the 50th minute to secure the win.

South Korea’s Son Dain scored a late consolation in the 51st minute, however, it was too late. Meanwhile, the victory not only ended an eight-year Asia Cup drought for India but also ensured India’s qualification for the 2026 Hockey World Cup.

#2 India 2-2 South Korea (September 3, 2025) – Men’s Asia Cup 2025

In the second Super 4 stage match of the Men’s Hockey Asia Cup 2025, India and Korea played out a 2-2 draw at the Rajgir Sports Complex Stadium in Bihar.

The Men in Blue took an early lead but they lost momentum, failing to convert several penalty corners. Korea soon bounced back scoring through a penalty stroke and a penalty corner to level and then take lead 2-1. However, Mandeep Singh equalized for India in the third quarter with a brilliant field goal.

#3 India 4-1 South Korea (September 3, 2024) – Men’s Asian Cup Trophy 2024

Few days after securing a victory over South Korea in the league stage, the Indian team faced them again in the semi-finals. The result was expectedly in India’s favour as Uttam Singh opened the account and Harmanpreet Singh scored a brace to lead the team into the finals.

#4 India 3-1 South Korea (September 12, 2024) – Men’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024

In 2024, the Indian men’s hockey team continued their unbeaten run in the league stage of Asian Champions Trophy 2024 by securing a 3-1 victory over South Korea to advance to the semi-finals.

Captain Harmanpreet Singh led the charge with two goals, while Araijeet Singh Hundal added another to seal the win. India’s dominant performance in the tournament highlighted their strength and determination.

#5 India 5-3 South Korea (October 4, 2023) – Asian Games 2022

India secured a 5-3 victory over South Korea in a closely contested semi-final to advance to the final of the men’s hockey competition at the Asian Games. Despite a dominant start with a 3-0 lead in the first quarter, the Koreans mounted a strong challenge, forcing India to work hard for the win.

India held their ground and moved on to the gold medal match, where they convincingly defeated Japan 5-0 to claim the top spot on the podium. This triumph reaffirmed India’s dominance in Asian hockey.

Before that, India had secured a crucial 3-2 victory over South Korea in their fourth match of the Asian Champions Trophy 2023. The win against the defending champions solidified India’s position at the top of the points table and guaranteed their place in the semi-finals.

Midfielder Nilakanta Sharma opened the scoring in the 6th minute, followed by goals from captain Harmanpreet Singh and Mandeep Singh. Korea responded with goals from Sunghyun Kim and Jihun Yang, but India held on for the win, and then went on to win the tournament.
