The Indian men’s hockey team return to action on Monday when they take on South Korea in their final round-robin match at the Men’s Hockey Asian Champions Trophy 2026. India have already booked their spot in the semi-finals and only need a draw to also confirm a top-place finish in the league phase.
Craig Fulton’s side—two-time defending champions and hosts—have been dominant in each of their first four matches in the tournament and will aim to continue their unbeaten run against Korea, who are fourth in the standings with two wins from four matches.

Given how the other match [Japan vs Malaysia] go, India and Korea could clash once again in the semis on Wednesday.
Korea, champions in 2021, though will want to avoid that given India’s superior form and home advantage. To do that, they will need to pull off an upset or at least hold India to a draw in their last league match and hope Japan lose against Malaysia.
To their advantage, Korea will know what result they need to avoid India in the semi-finals before they take the field on Monday, given Japan-Malaysia play at 4:45 pm IST while the India vs Korea match will begin at 7 pm.

Both teams clashed recently at the 2026 Asian Games, which saw India run away with an 8-2 victory, with Dilpreet Singh and Abhishek scoring a brace each in the Group A fixture.
India have also four of their last five matches against Korea, with another ending in a draw.
