India vs China Final, Women's Junior Asia Cup 2024: Live Streaming, where and how to watch

This is the second time India vs China final will be played in the Women’s Junior Asia Cup.

Defending champions Indian junior women’s hockey team will face China in the final of Women’s Junior Asia Cup 2024. India will aim to defend its title and clinch a second trophy in the tournament history. Meanwhile, China, who have won three in the past, will eye a record-equalling fourth Women’s Junior Asia Cup title.

South Korea are the only nation to have won four titles in the competition, but they lost out in the semifinals this year and will instead play in the third-fourth place match against Japan on Sunday.

India beat Japan 3-1 to advance to the final while China saw-off South Korea 4-1 to confirm their place. For India, Mumtaz Khan, Sakshi Rana, and tournament top-scorer Deepika Kumari scored the goals, with all three goals coming in the first quarter. Elsewhere, China netted once in each quarter in their big win over Korea.

Earlier, in the pool stages China and India found themselves in the same group (Pool A). The three-time champions topped the group while India finished close second. Both teams enter the semis, courtesy of finishing in the top two. China did beat India when they met in the Pool stages, overcoming Tushar Khandker’s side 2-1 after a dominating display.

This will be the second time India and China will meet in the tournament final, having previously clashed in Bangkok 2012 when China hammered India 5-2 for their second title. The Indian junior women’s hockey team will hope to repay that with a win in Muscat.

The final of the 2024 edition of Women’s Junior Asia Cup will be played on December 15 (Sunday) at the Hockey Oman Stadium. The match is schedule to begin at 8:30 PM IST and 7:00 PM local time.
