UP Yoddhas vs Haryana Steelers

Haryana Steelers are winless in the last three encounters and have slipped to the 11th spot in the points table of PKL 9. In the previous encounter against Bengaluru Bulls, Haryana was trailing since the start of the first half but caught up pace in the second half which wasn’t enough against a strong strong side. Meetu did not start in the playing 7 but Manpreet was forced to substitute him with the lack of depth in raiding.

UP Yoddhas are coming into this match with back-to-back ties in the previous encounters. Surender Gill did not play the last match against Bengal Warriors but Rohit Tomar came as a surprise and scored 16 raid points surpassing Pardeep Narwal’s score who scored 11 raid points. Whichever team wins this match will move to the top 6.

Head to Head

UP Yoddhas and Haryana Steelers have faced each other seven times in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) out of which, Haryana have won three matches and UP Yoddhas has come out victorious on two occasions with two matches ending in a tie.

Player to watch

Rohit Tomar in the 16 points he scored against Bengal Warriors, eight points came from the bonus itself and the other eight through touchpoints. The youngster looks fast and brisk while raiding and has the skill to escape from the defenders. He along with Pardeep Narwal will form a great combo from the left side with Surinder taking over the right side and keeping the defenders on their toes.

Meetu and Manjeet Dahiya are the two bright spots in raiding and are not getting enough support from Prapanjan and Vinay. Both the primary raiders need to take the responsibilities on their own and score points. Meetu couldn’t start the previous match but should be fit going into this match and he is the raider to feature in the top 10 in the raiders chart.

U Mumba vs Puneri Paltan

Puneri Paltan will take on U Mumba in the Maharashtrian derby on the triple panga Friday in Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 9. Puneri Paltan is coming into this encounter after a close win against Tamil Thalaivas (35-34) and currently holds the top spot in the points table. Akash Shinde and Fazel Athrachali were the stars scoring a super 10 and a high 5.

U Mumba after an excellent start to the Pune leg is on a two-match losing streak. Ashish has taken over the role of primary raider from Guman Singh who has not featured in past few matches due to an injury. Ashish along with raiding also has good defensive skills to tackle players while attempting a bonus.

Head to Head

U Mumba and Puneri Paltan have faced each other 19 times in the Pro Kabaddi League out of which, Puneri Paltan have won eight matches whereas U Mumba has come out victorious on nine occasions with two matches ending in a tie.

Player to watch

Ashish in the few matches he has played has been exceptional both in raiding and defence. He has taken over the primary raiders role from Guman Singh and has done a good job. The opposition raiders should be watchful while attempting a bonus against Ashish who has tackled players before while attempting to take bonus points.

Akash Shinde was the only raider from Puneri Paltan to score a super 10 after coming in as a substitute. In the absence of Mohit Goyat and Aslam Inamdar, Akash has played a crucial role and scored super 10s whenever given a chance. He was replaced for Aslam Inamdar due to an injury where Akash scored back-to-back super 10s. The youngster needs to be given more raids and also given a chance in playing 7 regularly.

Patna Pirates vs Jaipur Pink Panthers

Patna Pirates will face Jaipur Pink Panthers in match 72 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 9. Pirates have not lost a single game in their last 5 encounters while the Jaipur Pink Panthers have lost 3 while winning only 2. Patna would also look to avenge their defeat from earlier this season when the Panthers beat them 35-30. The panthers are currently 3rd on the points table while the Pirates are on the 7th spot.

Head to Head

Jaipur Pink Panthers and Patna Pirates have met each other 17 times with Patna holding a slender lead of 9-8.

Players to Watch

Sunil has been absolutely fantastic for the Pirates at the right corner so once again all eyes will be on him. If he does well expect Patna’s defence to have a good outing. For the Panthers, the eyes will be on another Sunil who too is having a great tournament in defence. It may well turn out to be a battle between the two defenders.
