Bengal Warriorz
Despite the win over Bengaluru Bulls, there is not much change in the situation of Bengal Warriorz. This is why they are out of the race for the PKL 11 playoffs. Bengal have had a disappointing season with 5 wins, 10 losses, and 2 draws and currently have only 37 points.
Despite boasting stalwarts like Fazel Atrachali and Maninder Singh, and their impressive individual performances they have failed to click as a unit. Poor decision-making in crucial moments and inconsistent performances have cost them dearly.
Their playoff hopes are still alive. However, they need to win all five of their remaining matches and favourable results elsewhere. With Nitin Dhankar sidelined due to injury, the Warriors have a challenging path ahead. While officially still alive, they might already be better off focusing on rebuilding for next season.
Gujarat Giants
Gujarat Giants‘ slim playoff hopes remain alive, but the odds are stacked heavily against them. With 5 wins, 11 losses, and 2 draws in 18 matches, their performance this season has been far from ideal. Their current tally of 34 points and a poor points difference of -98 means they must win all their remaining matches to reach a maximum of 59 points. Even then, their fate depends on several other results going their way.
Bengaluru Bulls
Pardeep Narwal’s Bengaluru Bulls were the first team to be mathematically and now officially out of contention for the PKL 11 playoffs.
They sit at the bottom of the PKL 11 table with only two wins and a draw from 17 matches. Their paltry 19 points and a league-worst points difference of -145 highlight the extent of their struggles this year.
Pardeep Narwal has failed to replicate his past heroics, while Ajinkya Pawar and Jai Bhagwan have not been up to mark. Despite Nitin Rawal (second in tackle points), Bulls’ defence have been shaky throughout.
Note: Other than Bengaluru Bulls, no team has officially been eliminated from the playoffs yet, this is on the basis of our mathematical calculations.
