The three-time champion side is determined to clinch the title for the fourth time.

The Patna Pirates, champions three times, are fully prepared for the 10th season (PKL 10) of the Pro Kabaddi League. Patna Pirates’ performance was not up to par during the 9th season, with only 8 wins out of 22 matches and facing defeat in 11. Despite finishing 10th in the points table, the team aims to deliver a better performance this time.

Manjeet Dahiya, formerly associated with Haryana Steelers, has joined the Patna Pirates for PKL 10. Manjeet, a promising young raider, has already made a name for himself in the Pro Kabaddi League. With his Khel Now, he has discussed in detail the upcoming PKL season.

Manjeet began his career with Patna

Although Manjeet Dahiya is now with the Patna team, this is not a new experience for him. He has been part of this team before, marking the beginning of his Pro Kabaddi League career with Patna. He said, “I have played for this team before. My career started with this team, and our preparation is going quite well. The players are enthusiastic.”

Pressure to play for Patna Pirates

Speaking of the Patna Pirates, they are the most successful team in Pro Kabaddi history, having won the title three times. Several big players have played for this team. Therefore, any player who becomes part of this team faces some pressure. However, Manjeet is not taking such pressure upon himself.

He said, “There is no pressure on me after coming back to a big team like Patna Pirates. Although it is a big team and has won the PKL trophy three times, we have to rely on that confidence. Our coaches and management are providing good support.”

Combination with Sachin in the team

Patna Pirates‘ fans will witness the combination of Sachin Tanwar and Manjeet Dahiya this time, which could prove to be excellent for them. According to Manjeet, they will try to lead the team forward in partnership with Sachin.

He said, “We have many raiders in the team this season, and my role in the team will be to lead the raiding department in Sachin’s absence. We will try to lead the team forward together. Both raiders cannot perform well in every match. One might perform better in one match, and in another match, we might do well.”

Thoughts on the new coach

After a poor performance in the previous season, Patna replaced Ravi Shetty with Narendra Kumar Redhu as the coach. Manjeet Dahiya has praised the team’s new coach and mentioned that training is going well under his guidance.

He said, “Narendra Redhu is an excellent coach, and he also coached the Haryana Steelers in the sixth season. I have played a lot under his coaching. Once again, I have the opportunity to play under his coaching, and our coach has a lot of experience.”

Fan following of the NYP Sudhakar

During the auction, the Patna Pirates included M. Sudhakar from Tamil Nadu in their team, who is an excellent young raider. He showed impressive skills in the Young Kabaddi Series, earning more than 300 points. Sudhakar has a significant fan following.

Manjeet commented, “Sudhakar is a player from the South, and he has quite a fan following there. He had many fans in Tamil Nadu, and after coming to the PKL, more fans joined him. He is practicing well, and his performance in practice matches has been good.”
