In a closely fought contest, Patna secured the decisive point in the final Raid to win the game with a scoreline of 38-36.
With 68 points from 21 points, the three-time champions are in fourth place in the points table. The Pirates are in fine form, as they extended their unbeaten run to eight matches. They will be eager to continue their winning run and clinch the title for the record fourth time in 10 years. Patna Pirates are no newcomers to the playoffs.
They created history by qualifying for the playoffs for the record – seventh time, the most by any franchise. If they can play well as a unit, the team that won a hat trick of titles could claim one more title. Sachin Tanwar has been the leader of their Raiding unit with the likes of Manjeet, M Sudhakar, and Sandeep Kumar providing the perfect support.
It is the defensive duo of Ankit and Krishan Dhull that has made the Pirates an invincible team to beat. They went a notch up in their home leg with the inclusion of Mayur Kadam, who has been incredible ever since he has been given a place in the starting seven. The Patna fans will be eager to watch how the playoff unfolds for their team.
