PKL 11: Key battles to watch out for in match 57, Bengal Warriorz vs Tamil Thalaivas

Tamil Thalaivas are coming into this game after three consecutive losses in PKL 11.

Bengal Warriorz are set to face Tamil Thalaivas in match 57 of the Pro Kabaddi League 11( PKL 11). The two teams are based out of cities with rich cultural heritage and language proficiency. Another common factor between these two is the love for sports as these cities have given some of the most memorable sporting moments in Indian history. Both the teams in PKL have seen many stars of the Kabaddi playing.

The likes of Surjeet Singh, K. Prapanjan, Ram Singh, and Sukesh Hedge have played for both teams. While the history might be great, PKL 11 hasn’t been as fruitful as they would have expected.

After the PKL 11 auction, both franchises looked strong on paper, but haven’t executed it on the mat. The Tamils started the season brilliantly losing just one match after their first five matches.

They were at the top of the points table. But things have changed with four losses on the trot. The Warriorz have blown hot and cold as couldn’t win two matches in a row in PKL 11. Sahil Gulia vs Nitin Kumar

Bengal Warriorz had a season to forget last year and their only bright spot was the performance of Nitin Kumar Dhankar. The right raider with his agility has troubled the defenders and has continued to be so iin PKL 11 as well. He will update against the skipper of Thalaivas, Sahil Gulia.

The left corner defender has been struggling a lot giving out easy points for the opposition raiders. In the previous PKL 11 match, many unforced errors meant that he gifted points to Zafardanesh and Ajit Chauhan. Nitin, being of similar stature will pose the same threat and if Tamil Thalaivas have to make a comeback, Sahil has to put in a strong performance.

Fazel Atrachali vs Narender Kandola

No one loves playing against Bengal Warriorz more than Narender Kandola as the right raider has done well with the men in blue on the opposite side. In the four matches, he has amassed 58 points in PKL 11 and that’s accounting to an average close to 15. Tamil Thalaivas would take it if the Dubki Prince could produce it on Saturday.

It won’t be easier said than done as the Sultan himself will be in the opposition camp, planning to hunt down the raider. Fazel Atrachali had his share of rivalry with Tamil Thalaivas when he was with Puneri Paltan in season nine. He was determined to beat Thalaivas in the second qualifier and was successful in doing so. The Iranians will look to get another win and the all-important five points.

Sachin Tanwar vs Nitesh Kumar

Two players stormed the season five of the Pro Kabaddi League. A certain Sachin Tanwar with his height made one of the impactful debuts as a raider and helped Gujarat make it to the finals. On the defensive front, it was UP Yoddhas’ Nitesh Kumar whose strongly built physique was enough to pin down many raiders.

Six seasons down the lane both have found new homes and will be up against each other in the battle of Warriorz and Thalaivas. Sachin has been silenced in the last few matches while Nitesh has played the secondary role with Fazel leading from the front.

But these two will have to get their act together in PKL 11 to challenge one another. The winner of the contest could decide the winner of the match as well.
