PKL 11: Key battles to watch out for in match 58, Dabang Delhi vs Bengaluru Bulls
Can the Bengaluru Bulls’ defense stop Ashu Malik’s series of Super-10s in the highly-contested PKL 11 match?
Bengaluru Bulls will take on Dabang Delhi K.C. on the upcoming blockbuster weekend of the Pro Kabaddi League season 11 (PKL 11). The Dabangs vs the Bulls clash will be the second match of the day and it is an opportunity for Dabang Delhi to avenge their previous loss against Bengaluru Bulls this season.
Bengaluru Bulls have won just two matches in PKL 11 and one of them came against Dabang Delhi. The Bulls won the first match with the narrowest of margins, but they will take it as a confident booster when they come out against them once again this Saturday.
Although Bengaluru Bulls are facing consecutive losses PKL 11, they have started to play with more sync as a team lately. With Ajinkya Pawar getting back his rhythm and a tinge of support from Akshit, Jai Bhagwan, and Jatin in the raiding department, they might create a few challenges for their opponents. The last time these teams faced each other, Jai Bhagwan scored a Super-10 along with a High-5 from Nitin Rawal to win that contest. Can they repeat their victory?

Ashu Malik is going to be the biggest threat for the Bengaluru Bulls in this PKL 11 match. He is a lone warrior from the Dabang Delhi when it comes to their raiding department. Malik has scored 8 consecutive Super-10s this season and is looking unstoppable. However, he is getting good support from his defence where Yogesh, Ashish Narwal, and Ashish Malik are doing a decent job of limiting raid points from the opponent.
In the last PKL 11 match, it could have gone either way. In the end, Dabang Delhi defeated Bengaluru Bulls by 34-33. With the recent form, Dabang Delhi won’t be thinking much about what happened in their last encounter against the Bulls. On the other hand, Bengaluru Bulls would want to repeat the result and get their third win of the season. This is going to be another spectacular match-up between these teams, but the main focus must be on the following battles which will decide the tides of the match.
Ashu Malik vs Nitin Rawal
This is definitely going to be the biggest battle of the day in PKL 11. It can be actually Ashu Malik against the whole Bengaluru Bulls’ defence. The way Malik has scored 114 raid points this PKL 11, he seems unstoppable. If Bengaluru Bulls have a way to victory, this may be the biggest one. Keeping Ashu Malik off-court for maximum time of the match can half-assure the Bulls of the victory, as Malik is the only raider from Delhi that has troubled the opponents.
Nitin Rawal will play a massive role in contenting Malik to less time on-court. Rawal has had a decent season with 27 tackle points till now. He has been the best defender for the Bulls in PKL 11 and if he can step up to stop Malik in the upcoming match, he might just put the first brick to their victory wall.
Ajinkya Pawar vs Yogesh
Ajinkya Pawar is the biggest raider for the Bulls in PKL 11. In the absence of Pardeep Narwal, he has stepped up for his team in the last few matches. Although he hasn’t been able to score a single Super-10 this season, he has scored some valuable 8-9 points consistently. The Bulls will be hoping Pawar to get his first Super-10 against Dabang Delhi in a winning cause as well. Pawar has scored 49 raid points this season, out of which 32 came in the last 4 PKL matches.
However, to stop Pawar, the biggest responsibility will be on Yogesh’s shoulders. He has been the most successful defender for the Dabang Delhi this season. Yogesh has scored 28 tackle points in PKL11 and is looking sharp. If he is able to stop Pawar in the upcoming match, it might help them very well.
Jai Bhagwan vs Ashish Malik
Jai Bhagwan hasn’t made a mark in PKL 11 as he was expected this season. He scored a single Super-10 which came against Dabang Delhi, which makes him an important player for the Bulls in the upcoming encounter. If he can continue where he left off against the Dabangs in the last match, it can be lethal for the opponents. He scored a superb 11 points against Dabang Delhi leading the Bulls to victory.
However, there was one player who didn’t play that match and has worked brilliantly for the Dabangs this season. Ashish Malik missed out on the last match between these teams. Malik has scored 18 points in 8 matches he played this season. It will be interesting to see if he is the one to make the difference this time when they come out to play the Bengaluru Bulls.
Can Dabang Delhi avenge their defeat against the Bengaluru Bulls in the upcoming weekend blockbuster? Or will it be the Bulls who gets the double win this season against the Dabangs?
