On the third consecutive win in PKL 11
This marks the Tamil Thalaivas’ third PKL 11 victory, driven by Narender Kandola’s impressive 15-point haul, alongside valuable contributions from Sahil Gulia and Sachin, who both scored 5 points.
“We are very happy with the performance, it took us some time to get in the game. Then the defence played well. Narender is a very good player, he played very well, ” reflected coach Udaya Kumar.
“With every match, our team is playing better. Our defence started a little slow else we would have had more points. Our Raiders played very well, and the defence too got better with time,” added Sahil.
For the Gujarat Giants, Guman Singh emerged as the top performer with 7 points, but it wasn’t enough to counter the Thalaivas’ commanding presence.
On Sagar Rathee’s return
Tamil Thalaivas will go on to face Pardeep Narwal‘s Bengaluru Bulls on 4th November who are still languishing at the bottom of the PKL 11 table.
“Bengaluru Bulls are a good team, they have good players. So we will assess the team and plan that. When Sagar comes to our team we will get even better and he will be back in three to four days,” said the coach.
“The Bulls are a good team, they have very good players in both offence and defence. The coach will make the strategy and we’ll play according to that,” added Sahil.
On facing Puneri Paltan next in PKL 11
Gujarat Giants will now face defending champions Puneri Paltan on November 4.
“Puneri Paltan is a good team, that plays with unity and good combination. So we have to up our game a lot and make fewer mistakes if we want to win against them, ” captain Neeraj Kumar concluded.
