PKL 11: We will not make same mistakes against Arjun Deshwal, says Patna Pirates coach

On Ajit Chavan’s performance in PKL 11
Ajit’s stellar performance, with 19 points from 18 raids, was the key to U Mumba‘s success, effectively countering the 15 points scored by Patna’s young raider, Devank Dalal.
“We are focusing largely on Ajit’s training because there are still things he needs to improve. I am happy he is coming up strongly, he is one of the most talented youngsters in the tournament,” said U Mumba coach.
On Devank and Ayan
The PKL 11 clash started with Patna Pirates’ young raiding duo, Devank Dalal and Ayan Lohchab, giving their team a promising lead. However, U Mumba fought back quickly with two consecutive Super Tackles, which were crucial for the Sunil Kumar-led side, taking both Devank and Ayan off the mat.
“Devank is a very good player, I played with him last year in Jaipur where he got injured, so he couldn’t play well. Ayan who is coming from Junior championships is a very good talent as well, so I believe they will be the upcoming superstars,” said Sunil Kumar.
Patna recorded the first All-Out of PKL 11’s high-stakes encounter thanks to Ayan’s bold two-point raid, giving his team a temporary lead. But Ajit’s incredible Super Raid soon closed the gap, showcasing his talent in PKL 11.
Ajit then achieved his Super 10 with yet another Super Raid, forcing Patna into their first All-Out of the PKL 11 match. With 11 points in just seven raids, Ajit helped U Mumba end the first half with a narrow 24-21 lead.
In the second half of this PKL 11 thriller, Patna stayed competitive as Devank completed his Super 10 with a Do-Or-Die Super Raid, briefly shifting the lead back to Patna. Ajit, however, continued to make an impact, consistently winning points for U Mumba with every raid.
On facing Jaipur Pink Panthers next in PKL 11
As the PKL 11 match neared its conclusion, U Mumba’s persistence paid off when Amirmohammad Zafardanesh sealed the final All-Out, securing a well-deserved 42-40 victory for U Mumba in this unforgettable PKL 11 clash.
Patna Pirates will go on to face Arjun Deshwal-led Jaipur Pink Panthers in the upcoming PKL 11 match.
“Arjun is one of the best players in the tournament, so we have to be careful when we face Jaipur, we cannot make the same mistakes against Jaipur that we did today,” concluded Patna coach.
