On that note, let’s take a look at all the teams that have been eliminated from the top 8 race.
4. UP Yoddhas
UP Yoddhas were also among the teams rated highly after the auction. They retained their main core and added talented raiders like Guman Singh to strengthen their squad. However, the team disappointed their fans throughout the season.
After a promising start, they failed to maintain consistency and could not convert close matches into wins. In the end, the Yoddhas managed only 7 wins in 18 games and finished in the 9th position on the points table.

3. Gujarat Giants
Gujarat Giants were in the headlines after the auction for acquiring Mohammadreza Shadloui at a massive price. However, their season didn’t go as expected. The team struggled with coordination, and Shadloui’s poor form further hurt their campaign.
Although they tried to make a comeback in the later part of the tournament, they lost some crucial games and ultimately failed to qualify for the top 8. The Giants ended their season with only 6 wins in 18 matches.
2. Tamil Thalaivas
Tamil Thalaivas were considered one of the strongest teams on paper after the PKL auction, with star raiders like Pawan Sehrawat and Arjun Deshwal joining the squad.
The team also had Narender Kandola and top defender Nitesh Kumar, making them look like serious contenders. However, the season turned out to be a major disappointment.
The team’s performances were poor, and they made headlines more for controversies and internal politics than for their gameplay.
Pawan Sehrawat was released midway through the tournament due to disciplinary action. Head coach Sanjeev Baliyan and captain Arjun Deshwal publicly blamed the management for not giving him the authority to select the starting seven.
He also revealed that unfit players were being selected while fit players were left warming the bench. The Thalaivas managed to win only 6 out of 18 games and have now been officially eliminated from the race for the playoffs.
1. Bengal Warriorz
Bengal Warriorz have had a disappointing season, managing to win only 6 out of their 18 games. The team was heavily carried by their raiding unit, especially by Devank Dalal.
Bought at a massive price in the auction, Devank proved to be an asset, scoring 271 raid points and leading the chart of top raid scorers.
However, he received little support from his teammates, the defense lacked coordination, and the other raiders failed to provide adequate assistance, ultimately resulting in the team’s poor overall performance.
When is the PKL 12 final?
PKL 12 final is on October 31.
