PKL 12: Top five best moments from Day 2 matches

UP Yoddhas and U Mumba start their PKL 12 campaign with a win.

The second day of the Pro Kabaddi League 12 (PKL 12) started with a clash between UP Yoddhas and the home team, Telugu Titans, where UP started aggressively and took a 9-point lead by the end of the first half. The Titans managed to script a mini comeback, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Yoddhas’ train to victory.

The second match was full of drama and went to a tiebreaker, the second in just two days, where U Mumba won against Gujarat by a narrow margin.

There were many exciting moments in both matches that left the fans in awe. On that note, let’s take a look at the top five moments from Day 2 of PKL 12:

5. Vijay Malik’s Super 10

Coming off a loss in their last game, the Telugu Titans were low on momentum and conceded a 9-point lead to the Yoddhas in the first half. Vijay led the team in his own way, scoring 13 raid points and scripting a comeback for the Titans. However, this was not enough, but his efforts were spectacular.

4. Gagan Gowda’s Super 10

After an extraordinary performance last season, all eyes were on Gagan as UP Yoddhas kicked off their PKL 12 campaign, and he didn’t disappoint the fans.

He opened his account with a Super 10, finishing with 14 raid points. His decisive Super Raid in the final moments proved to be the game clincher, securing a crucial win for the UP Yoddhas.

3. Himanshu’s Super Raid

With less than three minutes left on the clock and U Mumba leading by three points, the Giants decided to send Himanshu into the raid.

He managed to get two touch points and a bonus in that raid, putting Mumba on the back foot and levelling the scores, helping his side secure at least a tie. However, his efforts weren’t enough to get a win in the tiebreaker.

2. Rohit Raghav’s Clutch

Rohit Raghav was great throughout the match, and his all-round performance played a vital role in U Mumba’s victory.

He scored 3 raid points and 4 tackle points, including an outstanding Super Tackle in the final minute when the Gujarat Giants were leading by one. Rohit also made an important tackle in the tiebreaker, which sealed the win for U Mumba.

1. The Wrestling Showdown

With one raid remaining for each team in the tiebreaker, Mohammadreza Shadloui stepped in, aiming for a multi-point raid to give his team a benefit ahead of U Mumba’s final attempt. However, his plans were stopped by Sunil, who refused to give him an inch.

After that, both of them also played wrestling on the Kabaddi mat, ending with Sunil locking onto Shadloui’s legs and executing a decisive tackle. Adding spice to the moment, Sunil mocked Shadloui by performing the opposite of the Iranian’s iconic double-hand celebration, writing yet another fiery chapter in this growing rivalry.
