PKL 12 Play-In 1: Will Shivam Patare play tonight against Jaipur Pink Panthers?

Haryana Steelers are set to take on the Jaipur Pink Panthers in Play-in 1 of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium in Delhi on Saturday, October 25.

Jaipur Pink Panthers finished eighth in the PKL 2025 points table with 16 points and a score difference of -48 from 18 matches, including eight wins and 10 losses.

On the other hand, the Steelers secured fifth place with 20 points from 18 matches, having won 10 games and lost eight. They finished their league stage campaign with a score difference of 40.

The two sides are facing each other in a do-or-die encounter. The winner will qualify for the Eliminator 1 and will face the winner of Play-in 2, while the loser will return home.

With Haryana Steelers looking to defend their PKL title, let’s take a look at whether their star raider Shivam Patare is available for selection in this crucial play-in encounter.

Will Shivam Patare play tonight?

Haryana Steelers raider Shivam Patare suffered an injury during the franchise’s previous encounter against the Telugu Titans. He was subbed off in the 14th minute and was sent directly to the hospital, as confirmed by coach Manpreet Singh during the post-match press conference.

Shivam scored eight points, including seven touch points and a bonus point from eight raids against the Titans on October 22.

Haryana Steelers head coach Manpreet Singh confirmed to Khel Now that Shivam Patare has recovered from his injury and will play against the Jaipur Pink Panthers on Saturday. However, whether he will be part of the starting 7 or play as a substitute depends on the team’s strategy.

“Shivam is a tiger. It is not easy to get injured so quickly, and a tiger is always more dangerous when injured,” Manpreet told Khel Now on Friday after the press conference.

The Indian raider has earned 159 points (149 raid points and 10 tackle points) in 18 matches so far in the ongoing edition of the Pro Kabaddi League. He has two Super Raids, 6 Super 10s, and one Super Tackle to his name this season.
