PKL 12: Players Telugu Titans should retain for upcoming Pro Kabaddi season

Telugu Titans will aim to convert their season 11 momentum into their first PKL trophy in the upcoming season.

Telugu Titans are the only team from the first season that could not get their hands on the Pro Kabaddi League trophy. The last time they qualified for the playoffs dates back to the 4th season. Moreover, the Titans have been the most consistent in finishing at the bottom of the table. However, the last season wasn’t the same.

The Pawan Sehrawat-led Telugu Titans had a largely impressive outing in PKL 11. The raiding unit helped the team win most of the matches. The Titans failed to make it to the playoffs due to poor defence. They finished the last season in 7th place.

Whether it was experienced Krishan Dhull or youngsters like Ajit Pawar, they failed to make an impact. Titans will look to build a strong defensive unit in the season 12 auction. As the PKL 12 auction approaches, here are the players who should be retained.

Pawan Sehrawat

Injuries have become the villain in Pawan Sehrawat‘s career in recent times. Even in the previous season, Sehrawat was able to play only 13 matches, while he was not available in 9 matches due to injury.

If Pawan was not injured, he would have been one of the leading raiders in PKL 11. In the last season, he scored 129 raid points, which included 8 super-10s. His leadership and mammoth stature on the mat make him a must-retain player.

Vijay Malik

Vijay Malik is another spectacular player for the Titans who showed his class in the last season. Malik led the team in the absence of Sehrawat and did the job spectacularly. He scored 172 raid points, including 7 super-10s and 11 tackle points as well. The Titans should retain Malik for the upcoming season, as he is a player who can turn things for his team.

Ashish Narwal

Ashish Narwal was another raider who made a strong impact during the last season. He became their do-or-die specialist and saved the Titans from a few tricky situations as well. Narwal scored 120 raid points in 22 matches, including 2 super-10s and 5 super raids.

Apart from this, he also made a significant contribution in defence and scored a crucial 18 tackle points. He has made a strong case for himself to stay in the team and should be one of the players to remain in PKL 12.
