PKL 12: Vijay Malik appointed Telugu Titans' new captain; Shubham Shinde named vice-captain
Telugu Titans have retained their core from last season.
The upcoming edition of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 12) is set to commence on Friday, August 29, at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Vizag.
Ahead of the season, Telugu Titans have named Vijay Malik as their skipper for the 12th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League. On the other hand, the franchise have announced defender Shubham Shinde as their vice-captain for the upcoming season.

Vijay has led the Titans during the absence of their regular skipper, Pawan Sehrawat, in the previous edition of the Pro Kabaddi League. The Indian all-rounder has been promoted and will serve as the club’s full-time captain in PKL 12.
He began his PKL career in 2017 with the Patna Pirates and served the club for a couple of seasons. Vijay then represented Dabang Delhi for three seasons and UP Yoddhas for a season, before joining the Telugu Titans.
In the previous edition, the Indian player earned 183 points, including 172 raid points and 29 tackle points in 22 matches.

Meanwhile, Shubham Shinde was part of the Patna Pirates setup in PKL 11 and finished the season with 58 points in 22 matches. He has played two seasons each for Puneri Paltan, Patna Pirates, and Bengal Warriorz thus far in the Pro Kabaddi League.
Telugu Titans to host Tamil Thalaivas on opening day of PKL 12
The 12th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League will commence with a Southern Derby as Telugu Titans and Tamil Thalaivas take on each other in the opening encounter of the season. The much-awaited clash will take place at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
PKL 12 group stage matches will be played across four cities: Vizag, Jaipur, Chennai, and Delhi from August 29 to October 23. Each team will play 18 matches in the league stage, followed by the top six franchises competing in the playoffs.
The venue and dates for the PKL 2025 playoffs are yet to be announced by the organizers and are expected to be out closer to the end of the league stage.
