PKL 12: U Mumba part ways with head coach Gholamreza Mazandarani

The Iranian guided U Mumba to the playoffs last season.
Season two champions U Mumba have decided to release head coach Gholamreza Mazandarani ahead of season 12 of the Pro Kabaddi League. Under the Iranian, the men in orange had a successful campaign in Season 11 as they made it to the playoffs after three seasons. The Ronnie Screwvala-owned franchise posted the announcement on their social media.
“With immense gratitude, we announce that U Mumba and Gholamreza have mutually decided to part ways. His dedication, expertise, and passion have been invaluable to the team, guiding U Mumba back to the playoffs. His efforts and contributions will always be remembered. Gholamreza will forever remain a part of the U Mumba family,” the franchise said in its statement.
It was not the first stint for Gholamreza with the Mumbai-based franchise. On the backdrop of winning the Asian Games gold as the head coach of Iran, Gholamreza took over the reins of Season Six of PKL. It was his first experience in the league, and he guided the team to finish third in their group and was knocked out in the Eliminator.
He moved to Telugu Titans for PKL season seven and had a forgettable year which resulted in him being replaced for the next season. The Iranian returned to the league, and it was U Mumba who wanted him to lead their franchise ahead of season 10. The Iranian invested big time in Amirmohammad Zafardanesh during the season 10 Auction which strengthened his offense.
