Fans are expecting good performances from him in the upcoming season.
Rahul Chaudhari is a big name in the game of Kabaddi. He is one of the most successful players in the history of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). The 29-year-old has played an important role in giving recognition to the league with his excellent performances. Because of his extraordinary skills, he is also nicknamed the "poster-boy of kabaddi." However, PKL Season 8 did not go well for him while playing for Puneri Paltan.
During the entire season, he got to play only seven matches and in those matches he could only manage a total of 13 raid points.
During PKL Season 8, Puneri Paltan coach Anup Kumar showed no faith in this stalwart raider. Rahul Chaudhari kept going in and out of the team throughout the campaign. He also got injured in the middle of the season due to which he had to stay off the mat. At the start, Rahul Chaudhari was in good spirits and was also being considered as the key to his team's success. But, as the season progressed, he kept losing his form time and again.
In such a situation, many kabaddi experts said that the days of Rahul Chaudhari are over and that his career is on the verge of ending. But, he didn't give up. The proof of his perseverance came at the recent All India Civil Services Kabaddi Tournament.
Strong comeback in tournament
Playing for CS Delhi in the three-day tournament which was held in Sonipat, Haryana, Rahul Chaudhari showed that he still has the drive to play and win. Due to his stellar performances, Delhi's team became the champions the tournament. During the event, he played four matches and collected more than 20 raid points.
He, along with securing a good number of raid points, excelled in defence also for the team. He registered a total of eight tackle points in four matches to his name.
The All India Civil Services Kabaddi Tournament witnessed some of the legends of the game playing in the same CS Delhi team. Pardeep Narwal, Deepak Hooda, Mohit Chillar, Rakesh Narwal, Amit Hooda and Rahul Chaudhari himself were some big names present in the team. In such a situation, giving an extraordinary individual performance in a team full of these stars is nothing less than an achievement. With this much-needed success, he is likely to be back in form.
Rahul would like to return to Telugu Titans
The performance of Telugu Titans in Season 8 of the Pro Kabaddi League was embarrassing. The team won only one match in the entire season and finished at the bottom of the points table. Rahul Chaudhari has played for the Telugu team in PKL for six years in the past.
Playing with them, he became the "poster-boy of kabaddi." At one time, Chaudhari became the best raider in the PKL while playing for the Titans.
Now, the current situation for him is that he is most likely to be released by the Puneri Paltan for the next season of the league. Now in such a scenario, the team of Telugu Titans should try to get him back in their camp.
Rahul has played 100 matches for Telugu Titans in the past and scored 825 raid points in those matches, which was a record for any player at the time.
His fans will expect him to continue the form he regained at the All India Civil Services Kabaddi Tournament. If Telugu Titans win the title by including Rahul Chaudhari in their team next season, then it will be one of the biggest stories to go down in the history of the PKL.
