11 nations will compete in the 2nd edition of the Women’s Kabaddi World Cup.

The Women’s Kabaddi World Cup 2025 will be held from 17 to 24 November in Dhaka, Bangladesh, marking the first time the tournament is being hosted outside India. This edition will feature 11 nations, including defending champions India, runners-up Iran, and teams from Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, making it one of the biggest global events in women’s kabaddi.

The tournament has undergone multiple venue changes. It was initially planned for Rajgir, Bihar, in June, then shifted to Hyderabad for August, before finally being moved to Dhaka. This will also be the first Women’s Kabaddi World Cup in 13 years, with the previous edition held in 2012 in Patna, where India defeated Iran 25-19 to lift the title.

Teams participating include India, Iran, Bangladesh, Chinese Taipei, Nepal, Kenya, Uganda, Thailand, Argentina, Poland, the USA, and Zanzibar (Tanzania). India will enter as strong favourites but will face a serious challenge from Iran, who are eager to settle scores after their previous final loss.

Women’s World Cup 2025 Groups

11 teams are divided into two groups. Group A consists of five nations, including India, Thailand, Uganda, Germany, and host Bangladesh, while Chinese Taipei, Iran, Nepal, Kenya, Poland, and Zanzibar form Group B.

Women’s Kabaddi World Cup 2025: Tournament Format

When will Women's Kabaddi World Cup 2025 start? All you need to know

The 12 teams are divided into two groups. Each team plays once against every other team in its group. This means Pool A teams will play four matches each, while Pool B teams will play five matches each.

The top two sides from each group will advance to the semifinals scheduled for Sunday, November 23. Winners of the semifinal matches will play the final on Monday, November 24, to decide the 2025 world champions.
