The last week in the world of sports have produced a lot of interesting development. As the European football season closes to an end, the football season in India is gearing up for the next one. The Indian national team have some games coming up in June – awaiting interesting battles.

India squad for FIFA World Cup Qualifiers announced
Igor Stimac named his 28-man squad to face Qatar, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan in the remaining FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Bengaluru FC stars Sunil Chhetri and Udanta Singh are back the squad. Glan Martins is the only player to have been included in the squad for the first time.

Seriton Fernandes’ absence from India squad explained
FC Goa defender Seriton Fernandes was one of the names which was surprisingly absent from the India squad. But Khel Now understands the reason behind that is because he tested positive for COVID-19 recently.

FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup to kick-off in October 2022
The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup finally has a kick-off date after being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament is scheduled to start on October 11, 2022 and the final is going to be played on October 30.
