Hockey India announces their nominations for national awards
Hockey India has recommended India men’s goalkeeper PR Sreejesh for the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award alongside former women’s player Deepika. Harmanpreet Singh, Vandana Katariya and Navjot Kaur have also been nominated for the Arjuna Award.
Indian duo win Silver medal in Shooting World Cup
Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Chaudhary won their sixth 10M Air Pistol Mixed Team ISSF Shooting World Cup medal by bagging the silver medal on Saturday. India now has one Silver and two Bronze medals in the competition and are currently at the ninth spot in the medals tally.
India win four Gold medals at the Archery World Cup in Paris
The Indian team finished the Archery World Cup Stage 3 in Paris, France, with four Gold medals. Deepika Kumari bagged three medals in different categories. She clinched Gold in the women’s team recurve with Ankita Bhakat and Komolika Bari.
Kumari also partnered with her husband Atanu Das in the mixed team recurve to clinch the glory. Lastly, she defeated Russia’s Elena Osipova in the individual recurve event to complete the hat-trick.
Abhishek Verma won the only Gold medal in the compound event.
