Khelo India Para Games 2023 updated final medal tally: Haryana emerge champions, UP finish second

Haryana were also the only state to breach the century-medal mark.
The inaugural Khelo India Para Games 2023, a landmark event in India’s sports history, concluded on December 17 in New Delhi. The event was a testament to the indomitable spirit of para-athletes, with Haryana clinching the title with a remarkable haul of 105 medals, including 40 gold, 39 silver, and 26 bronze.
The games commenced on December 10, drawing participation from approximately 1,450 para athletes nationwide. Uttar Pradesh secured the second position with 62 medals, while Tamil Nadu claimed the third spot with 42 medals. The event saw representation from 32 states and Union Territories, highlighting the inclusive nature of the games.
The KIPG 2023 is the latest addition to the government’s Khelo India initiative, which includes the Khelo India Youth Games, University Games, and Winter Games. The initiative, operational since 2017, has successfully conducted five Youth Games, three University Games, three Winter Games, and one Para Games.
