Maharashtra maintain the top spot in medals tally.
Asian Games gold medalist shooter Palak Gulia of Haryana, tennis star Rutuja Bhosale of Maharashtra, and skeet shooter Angad Vir Bajwa of Punjab clinched their second gold medals of the 37th National Games 2023 as the competition for the top spot intensified with only four days remaining until the closing ceremony.
Gulia secured the women’s 10m Air Pistol gold in addition to her earlier 10m air pistol mixed team gold at the Manderem Shooting range. Bajwa, on the other hand, partnered with Parinaaz Dhillon to win the mixed team skeet gold, pushing Haryana into third place with a total of 48 gold medals.
Maharashtra maintained its lead in the medal tally with a total of 193 medals, including 67 gold, 61 silver, and 65 bronze. The Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) occupied the second position with 52 gold medals. However, Haryana is expected to win at least 7-8 gold medals in boxing and a few more in shooting, making them strong contenders for the top spot.
