The Islanders could not recover after a late goal by the Men of Steel.

Jamshedpur FC did the double over Mumbai City FC as the Men of Steel steered clear of the Islanders on Friday in the Indian Super League. Jamshedpur beat the Mumbai side 1-0 courtesy of a goal from Brazilian midfielder Memo, ten minutes before the final whistle of the game. The loss comes after Jorge Costa decided to rest some of his key players, after what has been a tiring season for them so far.

Despite the defeat, Mumbai still sit second on the table for the moment, but could be replaced by FC Goa, who have played a game less than The Islanders. The win keeps the Men of Steel in contention for a place in the playoffs.

Watch: Jamshedpur FC 1-0 Mumbai City FC highlights

Below are the ratings of the Indian players involved in the game:

Jamshedpur FC

Subrata Paul- 6.0

Mumbai's attack lacked the cutting edge and looked helpless in front of a compact Jamshedpur defence, failing to lodge a shot on target. So, Subrata Paul had very little to do in the game. He faced four shots, all not on target.

Robin Gurung- 7.0

The rating for Robin Gurung would have been better, had he not been booked for a poor challenge on Rafael Bastos. Nevertheless, the right-back was up to the task, ensuring that Mumbai misses Bastos in the game, along with Arnold Issoko. Robin had four interceptions and three clearances in the match.

Pratik Choudhary- 7.0

The backline of Jamshedpur was compact and was pinpoint in their passes. It ensured that Jamshedpur had all their attacks built from the back and Pratik Choudhary played his part well. A good display of his abilities on the ball and off it as well. The defender ended with a passing accuracy of 74%.

Dhanachandra Singh- 8.0

Another defender with a good display of his abilities on the ball in the game, Dhanachandra was literally made of steel, ensuring that Bipin Singh didn't have too much joy on his just second start of the season. He ended with a whopping 89% passing accuracy.

Farukh Choudhary - 7.5

Farukh Choudhary was started as a forward, but throughout the game was asked to track back and help the defence. His heat map for the game would show red patches on the left wing, where he contributed offensively and even more defensively. Farukh made seven crosses in the game.

Bikash Jairu- 6.5

With a solid display from Dhanachandra and a Bipin who was unsure of his position on his flank, Bikash Jairu had the luxury of going further forward to help his teammates in attack. The Indian midfielder failed to have a good game, unlike his teammates, contributing little at both ends. He ended with three crosses.

Substitutions

Sumeet Passi - 5.5

Sumeet Passi came on in the 63rd minute for Jairu and like the man he replaced, didn't do enough for the good of his team. He had 15 touches in 32 minutes of play.

Jerry Mawihmingthanga- NA

Jerry Mawihmingthanga came on with just eight minutes of play to go, so couldn't get enough opportunities on the ball.

Mobashir Rahman - NA

Mobashir came late into the game and didn't have any impact on it.

Mumbai City FC

Amrinder Singh - 5.5

It was a rare disappointment in what has otherwise been a rather impressive showing for the former Bengaluru FC custodian this season. Amrinder Singh conceded the only goal of the game, after he failed to bring himself in the right position after punching the ball away in the initial attempt.

Vignesh Dakshinamurthy - 7.0

A lone bright star in the rather poor outing for The Islanders, Vignesh had a solid defensive game, after being played in an uncharacteristic left-back position. The youngster had big boots to fill in for the game and he managed to do so. Vignesh ended the match with a whopping 11 clearances.

Sauvik Chakrabarti - 7.5

Souvik Chakrabarti was defensively very sound and showed a much-improved performance from his other outings. But, the former Jamshedpur man failed to do what he's best known for, delivering crosses into the opposition box. He had zero, as he was kept busy by Dhanachandra and Co. with defensive duties.

Milan Singh - 7.0

Milan Singh had a torrid game against FC Goa and had to improve to keep his place in the starting XI. The former Kerala Blasters man didn't put a foot wrong this time and had a much better game. Goa had targetted him, drawing unnecessary fouls, but all of his seven tackles in the game were perfect.

Raynier Fernandes - 6.5

Raynier seems to be a bit lost after the good scoring games he had and The Islanders can feel the difference in the scorelines since he's been out of form. It was another quite display from the youngster and he will need to do a lot better to keep his place.

Bipin Singh - 6.0

If Bipin wanted an opportunity to throw himself back in contention for a place in the starting lineup, this was it and the former ATK youngster let it slip. An excellent defensive display from the home side meant he could do very little to impress his manager.

Substitutions

Mohammed Rafique - NA

Didn't get enough time to be rated.

Sanju Pradhan - 5.5

Sanju Pradhan has been out of the first-team scene and rightly so. Every time he does something, the blood pressure of his tacticin seems to rise up. A difficult season for him and a difficult outing as well.
