Indian Player Ratings: Robin Singh and Kuruniyan shine as Pune humble Jamshedpur

It was the biggest win for The Stallions in the league this season.

Jamshedpur were humiliated by FC Pune City at their home in the Indian Super League on Saturday evening. Robin Singh was the star of the show, scoring one in both halves. Ashique Kuruniyan was also exceptional along with Marcelinho, with both scoring once.

Below are the ratings of the Indian players who featured in the game:

Jamshedpur FC

Subrata Paul - 3.0

It was an absolutely substandard performance from the veteran goalkeeper. Subrata Paul was at fault almost every time he had to get the ball back from the net. Conceding four goals is bad enough, but the way Subrata conceded them poses a big question mark over his starting XI opportunities.

Robin Gurung - 4.0

Robin Gurung could have done better to not let Robin Singh score the opener. Robin wasn't marked well and was allowed acres of space by his Jamshedpur namesake. However, Robin Gurung's injury ensured that his stay on the pitch was shortlived and he was replaced by Malsawmzuala.

Augustin Fernandes - 6.0

Pune attacked Jamshedpur from the flanks, since the Men of Steel's central defence was organised well. Augustin was an able partner to fellow centre-back Tiri and was solid despite his team's poor performance as a defensive unit. He made four clearances and put in three crosses. He was sacrificed for Michael Soosairaj to bring more attacking flair into the game.

Dhanachandra Singh - 6.0

Dhanachandra was the hero for the Men of Steel in the game against Mumbai City. But, the full-back couldn't prevent his side from falling to pieces. He was active on both sides of the pitch against Mumbai, but failed to do either well against Pune.

Farukh Chaudhary - 4.0

Farukh let his team down in the most bizarre way, not focusing on the run of Kuruniyan, expecting the referee to blow the whistle for what he thought to be a goal-kick. You have to play to the whistle, always.

Sumeet Passi - 5.0

Was Sumeet Passi even on the field? He failed to connect with his teammates and was isolated for most of the game, except for the first 15-odd minutes in the first half, when Jamshedpur dominated the gameplay. Such performances from him are what makes everyone question his credibility for getting national call-ups time and again.

Substitutions

Bikash Jairu - 5.0

Bikash Jairu was brought in to bring more directness to the game of Jamshedpur, but nothing of that sort happened. He had little impact after coming on.

Michael Soosairaj - 5.0

Ineffective, just like the other substitutes. Soosairaj looked clueless at times and didn't bring the spark to the game that he is known for.

Malsawmzuala - 5.0

If Gurung was poor while defending, so was Malsawmzuala. He wasn't any better while attacking either. The makeshift full-back couldn't put one cross into the opposition box.

FC Pune City

Kamaljit Singh - 7.0

Kamaljit Singh would have capped off a perfect outing, had he not conceded through the penalty. The goalkeeper was a wall and deflected any attempt to break through his lines. He has done well to claim his authority on the goalkeeper's position in the starting XI of The Stallions. Singh ended with five saves from the game.

Sarthak Golui - 7.5

The Sarthak Golui of the previous season seems to be coming back into form. The young right-back has had a tough campaign, but performances like the one he gave tonight could earn him back the confidence of the fans and of his coach. Sarthak had an incredible 12 clearances from the game.

Sahil Panwar - 7.0

Another youngster to have shone in the backline of The Stallions was Sahil Panwar. Like Golui, Panwar cleared everything that came near his net. The 19-year-old ended the game with nine clearances.

Adil Khan - 7.0

One of the biggest reasons why Jamshedpur couldn't break through the middle in the game, Adil Khan played as he did in the previous season, when his team were challenging the likes of Chennaiyin and Bengaluru FC for the top prize. He put himself in front of almost all the shots that were thrown at Kamaljit's goal.

Robin Singh - 8.5

Robin stole the show after scoring in the second consecutive game for The Stallions and this time twice. The brace didn't only give his side crucial three points in a must-win game, but would also have done a world of good to his confidence.

Ashique Kuruniyan - 8.0

Kuruniyan's runs were nightmares for Jamshedpur's defenders. He made good use of his pace, running past the entire left flank of Jamshedpur. The Indian international ended the game scoring one and assisting Robin for his second of the night.
