Both teams come into the game in a good run of form.
Since the arrival of Phil Brown, Pune City have won two and drawn two games, thus keeping an unbeaten record. The Englishman’s arrival has certainly brought a positive change in the style of play of the Stallions and it will be exciting to watch them take on Delhi Dynamos in their next fixture at home.
Ahead of the game, coaches of both the clubs met with the media to discuss their chances.
Coach’s Corner
Phil Brown (FC Pune City)
The coach started the conference by talking about the Stallions’ record against the Dynamos, which shows that they have won just once against the visitors in the last nine meetings. “This is my first experience in India and it is now evident that already the team has succeeded in breaking records in just four games.”
“The opposition is going to be strong, but at the end of the day, it's just a game of football. We do our homework and I always look forward to games regardless of the previous records.”
Speaking about Robin Singh’s performance in the recent games, Brown offered a lot of praise for the veteran striker. “I, along with Trevor (Morgan), have been keeping a record of his performances and we have pretty well understood the traits of him as a footballer.”
Further, the coach denied any tactical changes to the game, despite the fact that Matt Mills has returned from injury saying, “In the last few games, we have understood that our defence has performed very well with Martin Diaz in the centre-half and the Indian duo of Sarthak Golui and Sahil Panwar, who have also put on some exceptional displays.”
Furthermore, when asked about giving opportunities to new players in the remaining couple of games Brown said, “I don’t think so, because I want to end the season on a high. Now injuries will have a role to play here, but overall there won’t be many changes to the first-team”
Josep Gombau (Delhi Dynamos)
Pune City are unbeaten in the last six games and Josep Gombau spoke about it saying, “Both the sides have been doing very well in the last few games and have brought many good results.”
“But, we are prepared for tomorrow, as the momentum is good and we will look to take all the three points from the game.”
Recently, the Dynamos’ young star Lallianzuala Chhangte impressed during his trial with Norwegian club Viking FK and speaking about the lad the coach said, “Yes, Chhangte is a very good player for us. He is very quick and has shown some great potential this season.”
“I think if he continues to perform exceptionally just like he has done in the previous games, I think he does stand a chance and certainly has the potential to play in Europe.”
