Speaking after the win against Leicester City the Frenchman also revealed what leadership means to him.

Paul Pogba's Manchester United future looks very uncertain as the Frenchman is reported to be having a big rift with manager Jose Mourinho. The star midfielder is so unhappy at Old Trafford that he has reportedly expressed his desire to leave the club to executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

Mino Raiola, Pogba's agent was reported to be attempting to strike a deal with La Liga giants Barcelona, but Manchester United are in no mood to let go of their star midfielder. United took a backseat in this summer's transfer window by signing only three players. Thus, Pogba's move out of Old Trafford would definitely leave them in a dangerous and helpless state.

The 25-year-old midfielder returned to United two seasons ago from Juventus and has been the main man for them since. Mourinho and Pogba's relationship came under scrutiny last season after the midfielder was handed more of a defensive role. Mourinho's comments on the Frenchman around the 2018 World Cup are believed to have added more fire between them. Speaking in a recent interview Pogba expressed his unhappiness at Manchester United.

"What do you mean being the real Pogba? You have to know one thing: a player that gets chosen and is happy, you always feel more comfortable than when he's not happy. That's all I say. If you're not happy, you cannot give your best," Pogba said when he was questioned about what represents happiness and comfort for him.

The #6 wore the captain's armband for United in Premier League's first game of the season against Leicester City, even though he returned to training just a week before the game. He also scored a penalty and helped his team win 2-1.

"It's not having just the armband, I have always been talking to the team-mates. I am someone who is not in a role that I give to myself. Just try to help the team as much as possible, like they helped me too."

"Having the armband, it's not like 'oh, I will show that I am a real captain and have to do extra work'. No, I just have to be myself and do what I know, do what I can do and do what I know to do," Pogba said on what leadership means to him.

Wearing the captain's armband for the club from where you began your career is the most beautiful thing a player can ask for and it was not different for Pogba as he expressed his happiness after leading the team.

"I always love the club. I came in the academy, I grew up. I came from the academy, I played for the first-team. For me, it was a dream come true," the Frenchman said before continuing, "Wearing this (armband), it's even more because of the past, because of the players that played here, the people that have been wearing this."

Before leaving the press conference the Frenchman said some striking words when he was questioned about his mental state and the difference between the Paul Pogba of the French national side and Manchester United.

"I am the same, it's the same Paul Pogba, It's a different team, obviously. I am still enjoying playing football. I still love football and I still give my best with the team, for the team," he asserted.

"Like I said, when you are comfortable, when people trust with everyone or confident, are good in the head, it's going to be easier. There are things that I cannot say otherwise I will get fined," he concluded.
