The World Cup-winning France head coach has emerged as the new favourite to replace the incumbent Italian tactician.

Reports in Italy suggest that France boss Didier Deschamps could return to Juventus to replace incumbent Massimiliano Allegri.

Italian publication Tuttosport have suggested that the France national team head coach is on the verge of joining the Italian champions for a second tenure after his stint in 2007. The reports suggest that Deschamps feels he has unfinished business at Turin after their meteoric rise from the second division. Plus with the budget allowed at Juventus will be a luxury for someone as shrewd as Deschamps.

However, current head coach Allegri is also set to meet the Juventus president Andrea Agnelli to decide his future in Turin.

While Allegri has won an amazing eight successive Serie A titles, he has been unable to deliver the elusive UEFA Champions League. His star-studded team were knocked out of the Champions League in the quarterfinals by a young exuberant Ajax side. They also bowed out of the Coppa Italia in the last eight after losing 0-3 against Atalanta.

The Frenchman has also featured for the Old Lady during his playing days, making 124 appearances for the club. Hence, he is well aware of the club's philosophy and what they want from their manager.

With a below-par season for Juventus under Allegri, the Italian tactician's time in Turin seems to be winding up and Deschamps looks like the man the club want to appoint to take the outfit to the next level after his histric World Cup triumph with Les Bleus.
