Antonio Iriondo revealed that he is not taking Bengaluru FC lightly ahead of Sunday as he quipped, “The match against Bengaluru FC is very intense, because they are the defending champions. It’s true that they only have two points from the two games and we won our first games. But, we would be undermining them by taking them lightly. They are a very good side with very good players. This will be a good test for us and we will try to win the game.”
"In these kinds of games, the most important thing is the mindset, Rather, we’d focus on our team than opponent's team because there are some areas we’d like to improve on. We would like to overcome our weaknesses from our last two games and do well in the next game,” Antonio Iriondo added.
Thoughts On First Two Games
Jamshedpur FC have a 100% record at home this season, as they have defeated Odisha FC and Hyderabad FC till now. Speaking about the two wins, Antonio Iriondo was very pleased with the performance of his side. “Yes, I am very pleased with how we have performed in the first two games. For us it is very important, the way we have performed. We are working to develop a style of play and sometimes, you’ll see me passing on the message to the players in between the game. The players are adapting to the style of play and in training every one of them is working hard.”
The 65-year-old tactician also had words of praise for the Jamshedpur FC fans as he quipped, "The most important thing is the support of the fans. The support of the fans is outstanding here. In Europe, we see the teams that have more crowd support, get the energy and we want to do well for our fans.”

In training, I watch my players, how they perform and see the efforts they put in. Based on that, I choose my lineup. So, there might be some changes or maybe not."
Farukh Chaudhary
Farukh, who accompanied Antonio Iriondo to the press conference, was asked how he won the confidence of the new coach.
“I was very confident and my coaches were confident about me. But, I don’t know what the coach saw in me, you need to ask him,” he joked before adding, “I am trying to give my best."
