The tactician also confirmed that playmaker Sergio Cidoncha will miss the next fixture due to an ankle problem.
Kerala Blasters head coach Eelco Schattorie saw his team crawl back from a two-goal deficit to hold visitors Jamshedpur FC to a 2-2 draw in the latest fixture of the Indian Super League. The stalemate was Kerala Blasters' third in a row, which sees them collect only seven points from the first eight games of the campaign. The tactician, speaking to the media in the post-match conference, asserted that he is doing a good job despite having lost most of his quality players to injury. The 47-year-old also hinted towards the unfavourable condition of the players even before the season had started, which is now hampering their progress in the league. Eelco Schattorie further added that he was proud of the team's second half performance against the Men of Steel, but would prefer a fully fit squad which would make things easier for him. [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS]Assessing Team’s Performance
"Everyone is talking about us, how we didn’t win, But, the last three games, we build a little bit of confidence in the way we play. First half, I was not happy with the football, we lost too many balls. Second half, it was a bit better and if you look all over the game, I don’t think Jamshedpur had many chances. The penalty they got, I am not sure if it was one."On Sergio Cidoncha’s Injury
"Last game against Mumbai, he played with tape, he was not really fit. Today, also he was a big risk and I’m afraid he will miss the next game."On Sahal Abdul Samad and Samuel Lalmuanpuia
"Sahal came inside and did really well. Defensively, in a few moments he should be more aggressive, but on the ball (he) did well. Samuel did fantastic." "If the team is playing good possession football, I have no problem in throwing young players in the middle. If the game becomes too physical, you have to choose your moments. With Sahal, last week he didn’t play well against Mumbai, but that's not the reason he did not start today." "I wanted Mario (Arques) to start. The part on the ball when he came inside was good, but there were moments defensively he needs to be more aggressive. This is not negative, that is just realism." [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News | ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]On Growing Injuries
"I know exactly what the reason is...these are internal things. I just want to do my job as good as possible. Management would have to help me with that. But, the injuries (are) due to the pre-season, a few players arrived with injuries." "There are few things that internally I would speak with the club. It has nothing to do with the training intensity because I have 25 years of experience and I have never ever experienced this situation, this is completely new to me." Eelco Schattorie concluded his interaction by saying, “To be honest, I think I am doing a really great job. It sounds arrogant, but I don’t care. Even today the change(s) I made were good. In the end, the coach needs the quality of the players and if everyone is fit, it will be much easier.”Latest News
