The deal means all games in the regional competition will be shown live on TV.
The Mizoram Football Association and Zonet Cable TV Pvt Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding today for the broadcast of the Mizoram Football Association Futsal League.
As per the MoU, Zonet TV will provide a funding of Rs. 5,10,000 every year for the MFA Futsal League for a three year period.
The MFA Futsal Kickoff will be held on January 5, 2018 with the league commencing from January 9. Zonet Cable TV will provide live TV coverage for all Futsal League fixtures.
The All India Football Federation has taken measures for better implementation of Futsal in the country and has notified state football associations to take initiatives regarding futsal. The MFA has taken measures accordingly and is now ready to launch the first ever AIFF recognised Futsal League in the country.
A playoff for the MFA Futsal League has already taken place in October with 16 teams qualifying for the league.
The 16 teams are as follows:
Samuel FC, Armed Veng South; FC Thyristor, Ramhlun Venglai; Whetstone FC, Ramthar Veng; Dawrpui Spartans, Zothan Futsal, Chanmari; Lalluaii FC, Electric Veng; FC Bungkawn; Team Gideon, Kanan LM Futsal Club, Durtlang; Chhinga Veng FC; DSZ Saron Veng; Ramhlun South FC, Laipui FC, Laipuitlang; Lawmna FC, Dinthar; Hmingsanga FC, Ramhlun North and Bawngkawn FC
The 16 teams will be divided into two groups and the top four teams from each group will qualify for the quarter-finals.
The quarter-final and semi-final fixtures will be a double-leg tie while the final will be a one-off.
