Indian athletes who secured Paris Olympics Qualification in January

19 Shooters have qualified for the Olympics so far
As the Paris Olympics are approaching in five months, the Indian athletes are giving their best to secure their berths. Out of the seven disciplines in which India has qualified, shooting and sailing have added seven more athletes to the list of 51 in January 2024.
The first one to book a spot for India in men’s trap was Bhowneesh Meridatta. The most recent one to join him was Vishnu Saravanan, who made it to the Olympics in Men’s ILCA 7 sailing event. The Indian women’s hockey team, however, missed the chance to qualify as they ended up fourth in the Olympic Qualification tournament. This means that India may not surpass its previous record of sending around 130 athletes to the Olympics.
The Indian shooters were outstanding at the Asian Championships, where they grabbed six out of eight available quotas. They have qualified in all the events except trap. With 19 shooters, India will have the largest shooting contingent ever at the Olympics. India has also filled up its rifle quotas. India is the only country to have at least one shooter in every event.
Vishnu Sarvanan, who won a bronze medal at the 2019 Laser U21 Worlds, secured his Olympic spot by finishing 26th in the world championships. He was impressive and came fifth among those who were yet to qualify. He was also among the top 10 in the overall rankings at one point.
