Another medal was added to the Indian medal tally at Paris Olympics 2024 on day 6.

Indian athletes had a mixed outing on August 1 at the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024. While there was reason to celebrate as the Indian contingent won another bronze medal in shooting, defeats to key medal hopes were disappointing in various other disciplines.

The biggest disappointment from the day came in the shape of Satwiksairaj RankireddyChirag Shetty losing in the quarterfinals and having their medal hopes dashed in badminton. PV Sindhu was shocked in the round of 16 by He Bing Kiao in straight games.

On the other hand, shuttler Lakshya Sen emerged victorious in an all-Indian clash against HS Prannoy to advance into the quarter-final stage. In archery, Pravin Ramesh Jadhav lost in the round of 32 against Kao Wenchao ending his hopes of a medal at Paris Olympics 2024.

Over to Hockey, Indian men’s hockey team disappointed after losing by 2-1 against Belgium despite taking the lead in a high-pressure contest.

Nikhat Zareen, India’s boxing medal hopefuls saw her campaign end as she lost in the women’s 50kg round of 16 bout against Wu Yu. Indian athletes also performed below par in the 20km race walk event under athletics in both men’s and women’s categories.

Here is a look at all the Indian results from a mixed bag of a day at Paris Olympics 2024:
