The Spaniard established himself as one of the best players in the world at a very early stage of his career.

Carlos Alcaraz is the current World No #2 in the ATP men’s singles rankings. The Spaniard showed promise very early in his career and broke into the top-25 of the world rankings even before turning pro in 2018. Coached by Juan Carlos Ferrero, another Spaniard to have been World No #1 in the ATP rankings, Carlos Alcaraz is the reigning Wimbledon champion.

Destined to be one of the greatest tennis players of all time, Carlos Alcaraz has established himself as the favourite on clay courts. And it should come as no surprise to anyone when a Spaniard youngster does exceptionally well on clay courts.

However, the 22-year-old is perhaps a much more complete player and is said to be on course to become far more dominant on all the courts than anyone the world of tennis has ever witnessed. The youngster has the speed of Rafael Nadal, the movements of Novak Djokovic, and the control of Roger Federer.

Carlos Alcaraz’s Grand Slam Record

As one should expect from a 22-year-old, the Grand Slam career of Carlos is brief. The 2020 French Open was his debut in any major, while the 2022 US Open title was his maiden Grand Slam title. He has also won the Wimbledon (2) and French Open, but it yet to reach the Australian Open final.

Best finishes at each major:

US Open: Winner (2022)

French Open: Winner (2024)

Australian Open: Quarter-Final (2024, 2025)

Wimbledon: Winner (2023, 2024)

Olympics: Silver medal (2024)

Carlos Alcaraz’s ATP Finals Record

Carlos Alcaraz so far has qualified for only three ATP Tour finals. However, he withdrew from the tournament in 2022 due to an injury sustained two weeks before the tournament began. In 2023, he reached the semis, before losing out to Novak Djokovic, who went to lift the title. That has been his best performance in the competition to date.
