Jannik Sinner has been nominated in two different categories.

The ATP Awards 2023 has announced its nominees, honoring the most outstanding players and coaches in the world of tennis. Among the nominees are Jannik Sinner and his coaches, Darren Cahill and Simone Vagnozzi. The awards, voted on by players and coaches, recognize achievements in categories such as Comeback Player of the Year, Most Improved Player of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award, and Coach of the Year.

Jannik Sinner, who has had an exceptional season, earning a career-high No. 4 in the Pepperstone ATP Rankings and securing four titles from seven finals, has been nominated for the Most Improved Player of the Year.

He is contending against his Davis Cup teammate Matteo Arnaldi and Americans Christopher Eubanks and Ben Shelton for this honor. Sinner, at the age of 22, has also been nominated for the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award, alongside Carlos Alcaraz, Grigor Dimitrov, and Hubert Hurkacz.

Sinner’s coaches, Darren Cahill, and Simone Vagnozzi, have also been recognized for their contributions. They have been nominated in the coach category, alongside Craig Boynton (Hubert Hurkacz), 2022 winner Juan Carlos Ferrero (Carlos Alcaraz), Goran Ivanisevic (Novak Djokovic), and Bryan Shelton (Ben Shelton).

Ivanisevic notably guided Novak Djokovic to a record eighth finish as ATP Year-End No. 1 presented by Pepperstone this season.

The nominees for Comeback Player of the Year, Most Improved Player of the Year, and the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award are determined by an International Tennis Writers’ Association’s (ITWA) vote. Coach of the Year nominees are selected through first-round voting by ATP coaches. The winners of the ATP Awards, including the Fans’ Favourite, will be announced during Awards week, starting 11 December. Fans have the opportunity to vote for their favorite singles player and doubles team from Friday, 1 December.
