The 22-year-old starred for Italy in their first Davis Cup win after 47 years.
Jannik Sinner was given a hero’s welcome by AC Milan fans chanting his name at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, commonly known as the San Siro stadium. The World No. 4 was present to cheer for AC Milan in their UEFA Champions League group-stage match against Borussia Dortmund. A few days back, Sinner helped Italy win their first-ever Davis Cup trophy in nearly half a century.
The last time Italy won was in 1976. They reached the finals on six other occasions but couldn’t cross the hurdle in each of the six attempts. Moreover, when the Italy last reached the finals of the Davis Cup in 1998, Sinner wasn’t born yet.

Apart from starring in the final, the 22-year-old also defeated word no.1 Novak Djokovic in singles and once again got the better of him in the doubles fixture in semifinals against Serbia. Sinner brought his team back from the brink of elimination when he saved three match points against Djokovic. Furthermore, Sinner played a pivotal role in the final against Australia as well, defeating Alex de Minaur, 6-3, 6-0.
Jannik Sinner took the microphone and greeted his fans, “Hello, San Siro, there’s not much to say. So I hope everyone has a pleasant evening and Forza Milan”.
