Hello and welcome to Khel Now’s live blog for the Coco Gauff vs Aryna Sabalenka live clash in Australian Open 2024 live. Please wait for the blog to load.
The Australian Open 2024 women’s draw has only three seeds left, and two of them will face each other in the semi-final stage. The second seed Aryna Sabalenka and the fourth seed Coco Gauff are the highest-ranked players remaining in the draw, making their match a virtual final. Only four seeds survived the first week at Melbourne Park — Coco Gauff, Aryna Sabalenka, Barbora Krejcikova, and Qinwen Zheng. World No. 2, Sabalenka, then knocked out Krejcikova in the quarterfinals.
Gauff cruised through her first four rounds in straight sets until she met the unseeded Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk. Kostyuk played a brilliant match, forcing the 2023 US Open champion to a three-setter, only second of the year for the American teenager. Sabalenka has advanced to the semifinals at the Australian Open 2024 without dropping a set, even handing a double bagel to Lesia Tsurenko.
Coco Gauff vs Aryna Sabalenka Preview
Coco Gauff reached her maiden Grand Slam semi-final at the Australian Open after a thrilling three-set victory over Marta Kostyuk on Tuesday. The fourth seed staged a remarkable comeback in the opening set, saving two set points from 2-5 and 5-6 down, before edging the tiebreak 8-6. She then lost the second set in another tiebreak 3-7, but bounced back strongly in the decider, breaking Kostyuk twice to seal the match 6-2.
Gauff extended her unbeaten run in 2024 to 10 matches, having won the ASB Classic title in Auckland without dropping a set and cruising through the first four rounds in Melbourne.
Aryna Sabalenka breezed through the bottom half of the draw, facing no real challenge from her opponents. The highest ranked player she met was the ninth seed Barbora Krejcikova, whom she dispatched with ease 6-2, 6-3 in just 71 minutes. The Belarusian dominated the first set, breaking Krejcikova three times in the third, fifth and seventh games.
The Czech player could not match Sabalenka’s power and consistency, making 24 unforced errors and hitting only six winners compared to Sabalenka’s 20.

Gauff triumphed in their encounter at Flushing Meadows six months later to deny Sabalenka her maiden US Open crown in a match that lasted three sets, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2.
