Aryna Sabalenka vs Elena Rybakina final prediction, betting tips & odds, head-to-head, preview: WTA Finals 2025

Rybakina will make her maiden final appearance at WTA Finals.
It was a match between equals as Aryna Sabalenka took on her Wimbledon conqueror, Amanda Anisimova, in the semi-finals of WTA Finals 2025. The Belarusian crossed paths with the American in New York, where she repaid the favour in the finals of the US Open.
The World No. 1 overcame Anisimova 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, in a high stakes battle between the two heavy hitters to reach the title round of the season finale for the second time.
Sabalenka quelled Anisimova’s challenge in two hours and 20 minutes, a day after defeating another American and defending champion Coco Gauff in the semi-finals.
Anisimova’s 48 unforced errors came in the way of her and a place in the finals, though otherwise she kept pace with Sabalenka in the crucial encounter.
Sabalenka has booked a title showdown with Elena Rybakina, who had earlier eliminated Jessica Pegula in three sets.
Rybakina fought back from a set down to win Friday’s first semi-final against Pegula to find herself in the championship round for the first time.
The Kazakh prevailed 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 in two hours and five minutes to eliminate the American and set up a fourth contest of 2025 with the top seed.
The Kazakh struck 15 aces and 36 winners en route to victory over Pegula for her second career victory over the 31-year-old American. Rybakina is on a 10-match winning streak and a 6-match streak against the WTA Top 10 as she heads into her title round clash in Riyadh.

Preview
Sabalenka and Rybakina will cross paths in their first title-round showdown since Brisbane in 2024. It will be their second meeting in Riyadh and their third at the season finale, with their head-to-head record tied at 1-1 at the year-end event.
The former Wimbledon champion is in with a chance to lift her biggest title since her 2022 title run at SW19. Rybakina finished 3-0 in the Serena Williams Group, a clean sweep matched by Sabalenka in the Stefanie Graf group.
Both will look to carry their momentum from the group stage as they seek their first WTA Finals title. Sabalenka came close in 2022, while Rybakina has progressed beyond the group stage for the first time in three visits to the season finale.
Courtesy of their undefeated status in Riyadh, the singles finalists are competing for a hefty $5.23 million paycheck, the biggest payout in WTA history, and 1,500 rankings points.
For Sabalenka, who already has the year-ending No. 1 position in the bag, a win in the Saudi capital would round off a perfect season.

Match prediction
It is perhaps fitting that the season finale will be decided between Sabalenka and Rybakina. Sabalenka was the first to qualify for the 2025 WTA Finals back in July, while Rybakina waited until the last moment to sneak into the event in October.
Rybakina helped herself to a title run at Ningbo and a semi-final appearance at the Tokyo Open nudged her into the final qualifying position at the showpiece event.
The World No. 1 took a contrasting path to the WTA Finals, a road paved with consistent performances. Sabalenka reached eight finals and won four, including her US Open title defense. Despite failing to cross the finish line at Roland Garros and Melbourne Park, she entered Riyadh as the hot favourite.
The Belarusian made back-to-back semi-finals in 2023 and 2024, before losing to eventual winners Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff, and was denied the crown by Caroline Garcia in 2022.
Sabalenka faces a stiff test against Rybakina, who has been a picture of strength in Riyadh. The Kazakh is firing on all cylinders, and her serve, coupled with her punchy forehand, can keep the World No. 1 at bay.
Result: Elena Rybakina to win in three sets.
