Carlos Alcaraz extended his lead at the top over Jannik Sinner in ATP rankings.
World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz cruised to straight sets win over Arthur Fils to make amends after a disappointing quarter-final loss in Doha last season. The Spaniard hardly broke a sweat in the title-clash, prevailing 6-2, 6-1 to clinch his 26th career title, and second consecutive trophy of the 2026 season.
More significantly, Alcaraz extended his lead over Jannik Sinner as the top ranked men’s singles player with a lead of 3150 points between the pair.
Defending champion Andrey Rublev dropped four places to #18 after his semi-final defeat. 2025 finalist Jack Draper also slipped to #15, after missing the competition this year due to injury. Arthur Fils. meanwhile, returning from injury, made big gains, climbing seven spots to become the new World No. 33.
