Wimbledon 2025 champion Jannik Sinner has crossed the 12K mark in ATP rankings.
Jannik Sinner, playing his maiden Wimbledon final, scripted history as he became the first Italian to win the prestigious title. He also is the first-ever player to defeat Carlos Alcaraz at Centre Court. His triumph is an emotional and inspirational one, considering the setback he faced at Roland Garros, just over a month ago.
Having reached the quarter-finals in 2024, and now being crowned champion, the Italian gained 1200 points, solidifying his position at the top of the rankings.
Meanwhile, Alcaraz managed to qualify for the finals, for the third consecutive time, but failed to defend his title. As a result, the Spaniard lost 700 points, and stays at #2 with a total of 8600 rating points.
The gap between the top two-ranked players is nearly 3,500. Alexander Zverev at #3 is currently at 6310 after his opening round exit. Semi-finalist Taylor Fritz reached his first ever SW19 semis, and moved to World No. 4, displacing local hope Jack Draper, who encountered yet another poor outing at his home Slam.
Novak Djokovic was a finalist last year and lost 500 points due to his semi-final loss. He stays at #6. Ben Shelton qualified for the quarter-finals and hence reached a career high ranking of #9. Another quarter-finalist Flavio Cobolli made big gains, now ranked #19.
Andrey Rublev, makes a top-10 entry, after his fourth round showing which fetched him 190 additional points Semi-finalist from 2024, Daniil Medvedev left the top-10 rankings after his first round loss, and finds himself currently at #14.
