The Billie Jean King Cup 2024 finals will be witnessing the top nations battle for glory. The event began in April this season with 137 nations clashing against each other. After gruelling encounters, the top 12 nations will face off to clinch the title. The courts in Malaga, Spain are ready for the players to create havoc.
The squad for all 12 teams have been finalised with defending champions Canada and 11-time winners Czechia bringing in four players as the rest will have five in their attack. There will be eight former champions in the finals as Great Britain, Poland, Romania and Japan are the ones in chase for their maiden title.
Canada have been given a direct berth to the quarter-finals as they had won the title last season. Italy will also directly play in the quarter-finals since they were the finalists in 2023 and Spain as hosts have secured the quarter-final spot. The fourth and final team to be given the direct quarter-final spot is Czechia as they are the wildcards.
The rest will clash in four round 1 ties as the winners will then reach the quarter-finals. One of the most awaited clashes in round 1 will be between Poland and Spain. Iga Swiatek will headline the attack for Poland as Paula Badosa will lead for Spain. The singles and doubles matches promise intense action for the fans. Taylor Townsend of USA, Gabriela Dabrowski of Canada and Katerina Siniakova of Czechia are the players to watch out in doubles.

The format of ties will see two singles and one doubles match between the nations. The results in the first two singles matches will decide the fate of the final doubles match. Each nation will be led by their respective experienced captains. The round 1 ties will go on for three days as eight teams will be involved in heated clashes.
The hardcourts of Malaga will see 11 ties take place between the 12 teams in the span of a week. The 61st edition of the tournament will coincide with the men’s Davis Cup finals which will also be held in Malaga, Spain. *There will be no Indian presence in the event.
