Carlos Alcaraz vs Jan Lennard Struff prediction, betting tips & odds, head-to-head, preview: Wimbledon 2025

Alcaraz has notched up his 20th win at SW19.
Carlos Alcaraz brushed aside British qualifier Oliver Tarvet 6-1, 6-4, 6-4 in the second round for his 20th win at the grass court major. The Spaniard hit the milestone in just 22 matches, the second fastest run to 20 wins in the Open Era after Rod Laver. Laver claimed his 20th win in his 21st match at the venue.
Playing his first match against World No. 733 Tarvet, Alcaraz cut short the British qualifier’s maiden appearance at Wimbledon with a 2 hour, 17-minute win. It was a straightforward victory for the No. 2 seed after a lengthy opening round five-setter against Fabio Fognini.
The Spaniard will resume his bid for a third consecutive Wimbledon title when he faces Jan Lennard Struff on Friday. Struff overcame 25th seed Felix Auger-Aliassime 3-6, 7-6(9), 6-3, 6-4 to match his best performance on the grass courts of Wimbledon. The German veteran took 3 hours, 11 minutes to defeat Auger-Aliassime and even their head at 3-3.
Struff squeezed past the Canadian despite making 45 unforced errors, five more than the winners he struck. Auger-Aliassime was not far behind with 41 unforced errors in addition to eight double faults.

Struff, ranked No. 125, will take on Alcaraz for a fifth time on the ATP Tour. The defending champion is on a 16-match win streak at SW19 and will look to emulate Bjorn Borg and become just the second man in history to win the Roland Garros-Wimbledon double in consecutive years. Alcaraz will also look to win his third successive Wimbledon title.

For Struff, it has been a less-than-satisfactory season with his quarter-final appearance in Marseille being the lone bright spot. The unseeded German takes on Alcaraz three years after their opening-round five-setter at Wimbledon in 2022. Alcaraz won on that occasion for the first of his three wins against Struff.

Match prediction
Carlos Alcaraz hasn’t put a foot wrong since April when he won the Monte-Carlo Open. Since his title run in Monaco, the World No. 2 has reached five finals and won four of them. The 22-year-old Spaniard won three titles on the trot in Rome, Roland Garros and Queen’s to stitch together an uninterrupted run of 20-match wins.
With a vastly improved serve as part of his arsenal, an Alcaraz win is a near certainty. The Spaniard has so far bucked the trend, even as a sizeable number of his seeded colleagues have exited the grass court major just two days into the main draw.
Result: Alcaraz will win in straight sets.
