Carlos Alcaraz vs Lorenzo Musetti prediction, betting tips & odds, head-to-head, preview: French Open 2025

First-time semi-finalist Musetti will meet defending champion Alcaraz for a place in the final.
Carlos Alcaraz eliminated one of two Americans playing in the quarter-final stage of French Open 2025. Alcaraz dispatched first-time Roland Garros quarter-finalist Tommy Paul 6-0, 6-1, 6-4 to reach the semi-finals in Paris for the third consecutive year. While Paul has registered wins over Alcaraz in the past, they came on the hard courts at Montreal and Miami.
The No. #2 seed has always been at home on clay, and he proved his mastery on the surface once more with the 94-minute win.
The Spaniard struck 40 winners and converted six breakpoints to improve to 5-2 in his head-to-head against Paul. Tommy Paul, along with compatriot Frances Tiafoe, were looking to become the first Americans to make the semi-finals since Andre Agassi in 1999. Agassi is also the last American to taste victory at Roland Garros.

Lorenzo Musetti defeated Frances Tiafoe to book his maiden semi-final at the clay-court major with a 6-2, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 win. Tiafoe, the last American left in the men’s singles draw, went toe-to-toe with Musetti for the better part of their absorbing encounter. It wasn’t until late in the third set that Musetti took charge, winning eight of the final 10 games to close out the win.
World No. #7 Musetti, is the sole single-handed backhand player among the ATP Top 10. The Italian will rise to a career-high of No. #6 when the revised rankings come out on Monday. Armed with a 19-3 record on clay in 2025, Musetti will play his first French Open semi-final against defending champion Carlos Alcaraz.

Match Prediction
Musetti reached three back-to-back semi-finals on clay in the run-up to the French Open 2025. He reached the finals in Monte-Carlo and the semi-finals in Madrid and Rome respectively. Unfortunately for the Italian, he is slated to clash with the pre-tournament favourite and the man who has defeated him twice since the beginning of April – Carlos Alcaraz.
The Italian is a tough competitor on clay, and it would not be wise to rule him out. Alcaraz will be performing on his favourite stage, and as good as Musetti is, Alcaraz is better and will be extra motivated as he has a title to defend. It will be a match worthy of a final, with Musetti’s graceful shotmaking up against Alcaraz’s explosive forehand.
A fair measure of to and fro shall manifest itself before Alcaraz wears down Musetti with his relentless intensity.
Result: Alcaraz to win in four sets.
