Tennis stars Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Rafael Nadal, and Naomi Osaka attended the El Clasico match between Real Madrid and Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday (April 21).
Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid recorded a 3-2 win over arch-rivals Barcelona, thanks to a stoppage-time goal (90+1′) from Englishman Jude Bellingham. With the victory, Los Blancos have gathered a lead of 11 points over second-placed Barcelona in the La Liga table.
However, during the match, Spanish tennis stars Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal also cheered for Real Madrid from the stands. The two tennis stars were present at Santiago Bernabéu during the El Clasico and were also spotted celebrating after Jude Bellingham scored the stoppage-time winner. Here are the videos:
However, Carlos Alcaraz is currently suffering from an injury, and his participation in the Matua Madrid Open is yet to be confirmed. Last week, he announced his withdrawal from the ATP 500 Barcelona Open, which Casper Ruud eventually won. On the other side, Nadal has returned to clay after almost two years.
Apart from Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal, ATP World No. 1 Novak Djokovic was also invited to the venue. Real Madrid chairman Florentino Pérez presented the 24-time Grand Slam winner with a Los Blancos jersey with Djokovic’s name on it ahead of the 2024 Laureus World Sports Awards, which will take place in the Spanish capital on April 22.

Florentino Pérez also facilitated legendary American football quarterback Tom Brady and Godfather III star Andy Garcia with a jersey. Andy Garcia will be hosting the 2024 Laureus World Sports Awards. Djokovic has withdrawn from the Madrid Open; however, he’s currently in Madrid because of the Laurues Awards, where he is nominated in the World Sportsman of the Year category.
Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka also took to X (formerly Twitter) and uploaded a picture with Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who is currently out of action due to a knee injury. She captioned the post, “hala Madrid! thank you”.
After making a comeback after becoming a mother in Brisbane, Naomi Osaka has failed to perform up to expectations. Nevertheless, the Japanese tennis player is set to play at the Madrid Open.
