French Open 2024: Live streaming, TV channel, where and how to watch
The men’s singles field remains open with multiple contenders for the Roland Garros title.
The French Open 2024 Grand Slam tennis tournament is shaping up to be one of the most unpredictable in recent memory as the iconic red clay courts at Roland Garros prepare to host the world’s best players starting next week in the main draw.
On the men’s side, major question marks loom over the form and fitness of the top-ranked players heading into Paris. World No. #1 Novak Djokovic, the defending French Open champion, has yet to capture a title in 2024 and is hoping to build momentum at a warm-up event in Geneva this week. World No. #2 Jannik Sinner and World No. #3 Carlos Alcaraz are coming after nursing injuries.
Adding major uncertainty is the expected farewell of 14-time French Open champion Rafael Nadal. The 37-year-old Spanish legend has dominated the Roland Garros clay courts since his debut in 2005, but has confirmed 2024 will be his final season on tour. Nadal’s form and results have been inconsistent since returning from injury, leaving doubts over his ability to contend for a 15th title in Paris.
While the men’s field appears wide open, the women’s draw has clear frontrunners. World No. #1 Iga Swiatek will bid for an unprecedented third consecutive French Open crown and her fourth title at Roland Garros in the last five years. However, the Polish star is expected to face fierce competition from No. #2 Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus and no. #4 Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan.
