This is the sixth meeting between both players.

Carlos Alcaraz and Stefanos Tsitsipas are set to face each other in the French Open 2024 quarterfinals on Tuesday, June 4. This match is a repeat of their quarter-final encounter in the previous edition. Alcaraz, a two-time Grand Slam winner, reached this stage after defeating Felix Auger-Aliassime in straight sets in the previous round. The young Spaniard’s strong performance has made him one of the favourites to win the title.

Tsitsipas, the ninth seed from Greece and a former French Open finalist, had a challenging match in the last 16 against Italy’s Matteo Arnaldi. He saved four set points and avoided going two sets down before turning the match around. Tsitsipas, who lost the 2021 final to Novak Djokovic in five sets, will aim to end Alcaraz’s dominant run in this tournament.

Prediction

Carlos Alcaraz, the world No. #3, is the strong favourite against Stefanos Tsitsipas in their French Open quarter-final clash. Alcaraz boasts a perfect 5-0 head-to-head record against Tsitsipas, including a straight-sets victory (6-2, 6-1, 7-6) in last year’s Roland-Garros quarter-final.

The Spaniard’s recent form is impressive, winning 79.71% of his matches over the past 12 months, compared to Tsitsipas’ 65.75%. Alcaraz’s ability to make first serves at 67% or higher in all four matches this tournament has been a key factor in his success.

Moreover, he has broken his opponents’ serve in 35% of his 86 non-French Open clay court matches, highlighting his dominance on this surface.

Despite Tsitsipas’ skill, he has struggled against Alcaraz, winning only 3 out of 15 sets played. With Alcaraz’s injury concerns seemingly behind him, expect the 21-year-old to secure a straight-sets victory and advance to the semi-finals.

Result: Carlos Alcaraz to win in straight sets
