Carlos Alcaraz, Ben Shelton and Aryna Sabalenka headline another massive day with a semi-final spot at stake

Day 10 of the 2026 US Open gets underway with the quarter-finals in full swing, after a Round of 16 that reshaped both draws. Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina moved a step closer to the World No. 1 ranking with a sensational straight-sets win over former champion Naomi Osaka of Japan. Meanwhile, China’s Qinwen Zheng pulled off another comeback to eliminate six-time major winner Iga Swiatek of Poland.

USA’s Coco Gauff eased past fellow American Iva Jovic to book her spot in the last eight, and Alexander Zverev of Germany continued his push for a maiden US Open title with a clean win over Luciano Darderi of Italy.

Russia’s Karen Khachanov survived a five-set battle against Learner Tien of the USA, and Alexander Blockx became the first Belgian man to reach the US Open quarter-finals.

On Tuesday, the action shifts to two of the tournament’s biggest names. Belarus’s Aryna Sabalenka opens play at the Arthur Ashe Stadium against the Czech Republic’s Linda Noskova, before Frances Tiafoe of the USA takes on fellow American Alex Michelsen later in the day.
