Alcaraz and Swiatek are currently 5-0 in Grand Slam finals.

Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek will both eye their sixth Gand Slam title when they step into the Centre Court for their respective title match at Wimbledon 2025. Incidentally, not only will both players be playing a for sixth tennis major but also eye a unique record of joining an elite list of players to win their first six Grand Slam finals.

Alcaraz looks set to complete a rare three peat at Wimbledon, as he meets Jannik Sinner for the third time this year in a title-clash. When they met previously, fans were treated to nearly six hours of captivating tennis at Roland Garros, and a similar performance is expected from both during their duel at the grass court slam.

Recent head-to-head is strongly in favour of the Spaniard, who is currently on a five-match winning streak against the Italia, which includes the scars of his stunning comeback win in Paris.

Alcaraz boasts a 100%-win record in Grand Slam finals, having won his first major at US Open in 2022, and then completing a double at both Wimbledon and French Open this year. The 22-year-old looks to further improve his record, which would be highly impressive given the variety of surfaces he has played on, and come out trumps.

However, Alcaraz is not the only five-time Grand Slam champion vying for a sixth straight victory in a major final. Iga Swiatek boasts a flawless record too, with four Roland Garros and one US Open victory. She sets out to conquer grass today, and achieve possibly the biggest triumph of her career, against Amanda Anisimova in the final.

The Pole has been dominant and ruthless in the past at the biggest stage and has dropped only one set in Major finals so far. She will hope to claim her first-ever title at Wimbledon, and further cement herself as the most complete female player currently on the WTA tour.

Has any player won their first six Grand Slam finals?

Roger Federer stands at the top of this list, having won his first seven Grand Slam finals. The 20-time Grand Slam champion claimed his first Wimbledon title in 2003, defeating Australia’s Mark Philippoussis in straight sets.

He followed that up with a dominant 2004 season, winning three of the four majors by beating Marat Safin in the Australian Open final, Andy Roddick at Wimbledon, and Lleyton Hewitt in the US Open final.

The Swiss maestro continued his reign in 2005, once again overcoming Roddick in the Wimbledon final and defeating Andre Agassi in the US Open final, bringing his record to a flawless 6-0 in Grand Slam finals.

His victory over Marcos Baghdatis in the 2006 Australian Open final brought up his seventh consecutive major final wins. This remarkable streak was finally ended by Rafael Nadal in the 2006 Roland Garros final.

However, yet another record of Federer is in danger, as if Alcaraz beats Sinner again at Wimbledon, he will be only win away from equalling the Swiss icon.

Federer is not the only player to have accomplished this milestone. Nine-time Grand Slam winner Monica Seles too won her first six Grand Slam finals, starting off with a triumph at the 1990 French Open, when she beat Steffi Graf to become the youngest winner in Roland Garros history at 16 years and 6 months of age.

Seles defeated Jana Novotna to win the 1991 Australian Open, then defended her Roland Garros title by beating Arantxa Sánchez Vicario before claiming her first US Open crown over Martina Navratilova.

In 1992, she successfully defended both the Australian Open (defeating Mary Joe Fernandez) and French Open (beating Steffi Graf) titles, before her unbeaten streak in major finals ended with a loss to Graf in the Wimbledon final that year.

Can both Alcaraz and Swiatek join this list? Will either of them get there? Or will this record remain untouched for now?
